So many meetings, so little time!

It feels like I've been spinning around in a washing machine for 90 minutes! Just left a meeting at a customer, laughing and somewhat excited. But also, thankful that my days are not filled with meetings like this.

It made me think about meetings. Too often, I meet frustrated leaders who are double- or triple-booked, rushing between meetings without even knowing how to contribute. Does it sound familiar to you?

So many meetings, so little time.

Still, you can actually influence the meeting in the right direction by following these five points:

1. Ask for an agenda

2. Find out what is expected of you. What would be your contribution in the meeting? (if you do not know what is expected of you or if no one can tell you, there is no point in attending)

3. Make sure the goal of the meeting is clear to everyone – in order to discuss the RIGHT things

4. Summarize the outcome: Was there a decision? What is the next step?

5. Make a short reflection - Did you reach the goal? If not - why? (Teams that regularly reflect on their performance increase their efficiency up to 25% according to research. But more on that another time ...)

Good luck!
